The Starter: Don’t Take It for Granted

Every day is the fight for the starting spot. In sports and at work, the jersey isn’t guaranteed—you earn it, keep it, and defend it with preparation, clean handoffs, and coachability. If-then triggers (e.g., “If it’s 8:55, then I open my scouting report and block 90 minutes”) help you act with clarity when pressure hits.

How to Play

  • Answer 10 fast scenarios before the timer runs out.
  • Pick the true “starter move” (prep, if-then trigger, clean handoff, assist call).
  • Hear Coach react: best = 🔊 praise, average = ⚠ nudge, worst = ⛔ bench.
  • Score points, climb the depth chart (Practice Squad → Backup → Starter → Captain).

Why It Matters

Starters aren’t the loudest—they’re the most reliable. If-then planning, quick resets, and no-blame fixes build trust and speed. Coach says: “Defend your jersey—rep by rep.”

Pro Tip from Coach

Before you press Start, set one if-then: “If I blank on a question, then I’ll choose the option that helps the next person start strong.”
